Where You Are Right Now!

The new year is fast approaching and at this of year we are all taking a moment to look back at the past year and evaluate if we achieved what we had hoped to achieve. I know that I tend to do that each year myself and at times I can be disappointed because I didn't do all the things I had hoped I would do, plans got changed because of things out of my control and maybe I just didn't get as far as I hoped I would by the end of another year. If you are doing the same thing -- STOP! Let's look at things differently this year as we reflect on last year's results.

I want to replace that disappointment with appreciation of what I do have, how far I have come and what opportunities are yet to be! We are often so ready to beat ourselves up for the things we didn't get done or didn't accomplish rather than what we did get done and did accomplish. So what I want to do is make a list of the things that I am thankful for from the past year and then reflect on what my dreams for the new year will be.

This past year was filled with so many blessings:

We all have our health.
Dad Lewis got through the surgery with flying colors and was able to actively participate in the holidays.
We had all the kids together for Christmas Eve.
I had the opportunity to travel and teach again this past year in which I met some fabulous people and worked with some great companies.
I learned how to make blankets.
We opened a training center to benefit people within our community in their personal, professional and home/family lives.
I have reconnected with family I've not been close to in a long time.
The Lord has opened new doors for us to serve our community.
I've completed my first book.
I've gotten lots of new ideas for upcoming classes.
We've launched the Prepare to Soar series for Women.

Okay, so I could go on forever but you get the idea. Instead of looking back and regaling everything bad let's take time to look at what is good in our life. We have so many things to be thankful for and yet we often forget about those things as the pressures of living day to day are allowed to take over our lives.

As I dream ahead for the next year I am open to whatever door the Lord opens for me. As the Lord says in Jeremiah 29:11 "I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future". With the Lord in charge, everything is possible and I can hardly wait to see what He has planned for me in 2008.

I wish you and your family all the best the Lord has to offer in this upcoming year. Be open to change, be prepared for challenges and know that whatever happens, the Lord is with you!

God Bless You All in 2008 and every year after!
